Big Shoulders Fund Ball Kick Off

We invite you to join us for the Big Shoulders Fund Ball Kick Off on Thursday, July 10 from 5:30-7:30pm at Moe’s Cantina, River North (155 W. Kinzie Street).

This year, we are Inventing Tomorrow, as the Chairmen’s Advisory Council and Auxiliary Board raise funds for their scholarships.

The Kick Off serves as the first opportunity to purchase Big Shoulders Fund Ball tickets and is a great evening of networking.

Networking Speaker Series

The CAC invites you to a panel discussion on civic service. Big Shoulders Fund CEO Joshua Hale will moderate a discussion along with three Board of Directors members: Curtis Tarver (Illinois state representative, 25th District), Clarisol Duque (State Director for United States Senator Dick Durbin) and Sheila O’Grady (former chief of staff for Mayor Richard M. Daley).

On this journey, you might find yourself judging a science experiment, building a robot, competing in a math decathlon, reading with students, or judging a poetry slam!

Join Big Shoulders Fund’s Chairmen’s Advisory Council as we welcome Anne Pramaggiore, president and CEO of ComED on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Kirkland and Ellis (300 N. Lasalle; 6th Floor). Please RSVP by Wednesday May 20, 2015 to Colleen Sprague at csprague@bigshouldersfund.org A little more on our speaker: Anne Pramaggiore joined ComEd in 1998 to work on the companys transition to competitive energy markets under the Illinois Consumer Choice Law of 1997. In her role as ComEd’s lead lawyer and as head of Regulatory Policy, she led major policy work around the restructuring of the Illinois electric industry. In 2009, Pramaggiore was appointed as ComEd’s COO and became responsible for overseeing dayto day operations on the electric grid and in customer operations. In that role, she led the company effort to set the legislative framework for ComEd’s smart grid build-out, a leading model nationally for modernizing one of the largest utility systems in the country. Pramaggiore was promoted to her current position in February 2012. She is the first female to hold the post of president and CEO at the electric utility. Pramaggiore serves as a board member of Chicago Federal Reserve Board, Motorola Solutions, Inc., and several civic and community organizations. She is a 1989 graduate of DePaul University School of Law and served as editor-in-chief of the school’s Law Review. She has a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Theater from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
